I believe that we are born, shaped, wounded and healed in relationship, therefore relationship is the crucible for change

I am trained in humanistic psychotherapy and within my practice, I also take on a relational approach to working with clients. Relational therapy puts emphasis on the importance of relationships and their influence on an individual's well-being. This includes your relationship to yourself as well as familial, romantic and platonic connections. We can also extend this to your relationship to your environment, culture and experiences.

So what does this look like in therapy?

Research shows that the therapist-client relationship, is the most powerful predictor of positive outcomes in therapy, over any modality.

In saying this, my first priority is creating a contained and safe space where you can be your authentic self and say how you truly feel, whether that’s about yourself and your experiences, how you feel about therapy, the session and even our working relationship.

I work in an active and engaged way and, only when in service of you, bring in my own thoughts or felt sense, so we can really work together in a co-created space.

You can bring your most vulnerable, hidden or shameful parts of yourself and I will hold the space for this, without judgement, meeting those parts with compassion, curiosity, empathy and understanding.

I am here to contain, hold, attune, guide, sometimes challenge, facilitate and advocate for you, your healing and growth.
